Reunion 2012

Following a suggestion that arose during reminiscences of the early days at 16th Morecambe at John Leaver's funeral in November 2011 a reunion was organised for former members of the Group together with the Church of the Ascension Youth Club at that time, which was closely linked.

The reunion took place on Saturday, 16 June 2012 at the Church of the Ascension lounge on Michaelson Avenue.

Friends travelled from far and wide to attend the get-together. The furthest from Australia, from France and from all around the UK. Barry Ayre from Silverdale and John Murray from Arnside were the earliest members of the Scouts present, their membership dating back to the 1940’s.

Photographs were much in evidence, mainly of the black and white variety! evoking many happy memories of camping and other adventures.

Arrangements for the evening were coordinated by Joyce Brooks who was involved in restarting the Group in Torrisholme in 1957 along with her late husband Harry.
