Clougha Pike

Here are some photos of our expedition to Clougha Pike on 8 February 2009. The weather today was mainly overcast with a keen frost and only a light Northerly wind.

After parking near Baines Crag we had a relatively uneventful walk up to Plover Moss. However, the ground was frozen solid and there were some enjoyable moments on several icy patches.

Towards the summit of the Pike there was a good covering of snow and snowballs abounded!

After lunching on Grit Fell we circled around Brownley Hill before returning the way we ascended. More snowballs and icy high jinks!

Rocks on Plover Moss Lunchtime on Grit Fell Dancing on Ice? Oops, it's slippy!
